The Friends of John Bryan State Park organized in 2003 when a group of interested park patrons saw an opportunity to create a relationship between the state park and a private, not-for-profit group. This relationship is intended to enhance the ability of the park staff to fulfill their mission and to provide an opportunity for members of the community to become involved in the park's operation.

The Friends formed with a few immediate goals in mind. These goals include providing new public events to increase local community involvement in the park, fundraising to help finance park amenities such as a new gazebo, changing room and picnic tables, and raising public awareness of the need for maintaining our State Parks.

The success of these projects hinges on the public-private partnership that has been forged with the creation of this group.  We invite your participation and comments to improve our efforts.

As of January 2007, the Friends of John Bryan State Park is a non-profit organization working on  501(c)3 status so that future contributions will be tax-exempt.

The key to success is your support!
